On Saturday 9th December, a small group of us travelled to Sydney for a harbour cruise and lunch with Captain Cook Cruises. The weather was a concern in the morning however, although it stayed relatively overcast for most of the day, there was no rain, and it was quite warm.
Our bus driver got us into the City with plenty of time to spare which gave us time for a coffee or a wine before boarding the cruise.
Our 3 course lunch was very good as usual (although the Tiramisu was alcohol free…lol), sailing around the harbour was exceptionally smooth and the conversation was fun with lots of laughs! We weren’t too sure about the new method of ordering drinks, but Bridget quickly mastered the app with the rest of us following. Angie appeared to master more successfully than the rest of us, so much so she managed to receive 2 different drinks on her order of lemonade over ice!!! Angie was perplexed when the waiter placed both drinks in front of her (one glass of lemonade and a glass of Baileys over ice) so showed him the receipt for her order of one glass of lemonade, but he said both drinks had been ordered by her and he wouldn’t take the Baileys back. A win for Angie…not so good for the new automated booking app!
After the cruise we retired to the Mediterranean Bar for either a couple of cocktails or wine until our driver collected us just before 6pm.
Typing the work cocktails reminded me that we have a CCWTC dinner and cocktail evening planned for 23rd January 2021. More details on the website!
